NAVRACHNA meaning new creation, was established as a loose informal forum in 1999 and registered in November 2001, with the aim of empowering the poor and tribals on the local resources, and to participate in a process of social change. The sorry plight of human beings of this area, in every sphere of life, despite the abundance of natural resources, gave birth to the idea of bringing up such an organisation which could help them out of this condition, through optimum utilisation of available and accessible human and natural resources for a better living.

VISION:

Navrachna’s vision is to work towards building an equitable society based on the principle of Humanism. Peace, Gender Justice and Empowerment. We believe that development is a continuous struggle to create a humane society, which sustain all human beings, as well as nature, where women, men and children enjoy universal human rights.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To promote activities for the vulnerable section of society in different priority areas of development.
  • To improve the quality of life of women, help them in their struggle against discrimination, inequality, atrocities and social customs detrimental to fundamental rights of women.
  • To optimize use of resources i.e., land, water, forest, vegetation and also promoting renewal energy sources to restore the eco-development.
  • To promote education, health, nutritional status, sanitation and fight against ignorance.
  • STRATEGY:Navrachna believes that through participation only sustainable development is possible. Thus by providing support through training of communities, capacity building, documenting, networking, project planning and any other way needed. It also acts as resource centre for information dissemination. Thus though this process, we thrive to bridge the socio economic inequality. We see our role as a process facilitator and catalyst in developing a supportive and enabling environment for community based resource management.
