NEEDS is one of the pioneering grassroots level NGOs in Tenali, Guntur district, AP South India that was established by young people with a wide range of socio-economical-educational-and overall rural development accesses‟ provisions. Thus since the last 15 years of rural and well as community development, NEEDS has implemented and carried out variety of activities. It was registered in 2000 as non-profit voluntary service society. NEEDS was a need based awakening by a group of like-minded people to help the needy in times of urgency. Guntur district areas‟ socioeconomic and educational conditions were so backward and had never experienced voluntary service or any of such development facilitating support as of the other places in the districts of AP. Seeing the much rearward conditions of the people; especially of rural families and the areas, it decided to support the people and the areas through a process of participatory aspects – NEEDS and rural people-collective works for own development. Thus since inception focusing on rural issues conducting studies and finding condign solutions to address them, NEEDS never kept away and forgotten its mission throughout these all years of its struggle for rural people’s development. That’s the guiding principle and motivating factor for NEEDS to go forward even in its financial constraints to free the rural people from their own bondage of ignorance, inability and misfortunes.

NEEDS since inception productively carries out various activities/programmes/projects in the areas of Child Development, Education, Forestry and Environment, Women Development, Rural livelihoods, Child Welfare & Rights, Agriculture, Health & Sanitation, Rural income generation, awareness creation on Acts/Rights, Rural Infrastructure
