My name is Hellen Gathogo. I am a Social worker, paralegal and a general counsellor. I come from Laikipia County an area that is notorious for FGM,child marriages and Beading. These are practices that are rampant among the Samburu and Masai communities and even though i do not come from the communities, my heart bleeds for these girls.

I grew up in abject poverty but through community support,i was able to go through education and i decided to go back and bring difference by empowering girls and families.

The plight of the little girls would not give me peace and one day i decided to resign as a program manager in an orgaization to go rescue these girls.I with some legal founded One More Day for Children Foundation in 2009 an organization organization that rescued young girls from abuses. My community came through for me as a young girl and it was my turn to come through for these girls.I work as the CEO.We have establishes a safe house for the girls in Laikipia North subcounty
