The Peace & Justice Network (PJN) Pakistan is a registered not for profit rule of law network which provides a common and neutral platform for civil society, academia, legal experts, justice institutions, policy makes and government organizations to work together on legal empowerment, human rights protection, access to justice and rule of law reforms initiatives across Pakistan in order to achieve its vision of establishing a peaceful society governed by laws where the rights of individuals are secure.

Following are the distinguish features of PJN;

  5. Secretariat for Community Legal Services Forum (CLSF) – Collaborative platform to bring together all donors, international implementing partners, and local organizations working on Community Legal Services
  6. Institutional Collaboration with Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan, Ministry of Human Rights, Courts, Bar Associations, Local Government Institution, Police and Ombudsman for justice delivery initiatives
  7. Secretariat for National Community Paralegal Program – Collaborating with all the national programs

PJN as an idea is to make civil society as the voice of citizens and transform the rule of law and its reform to be inclusive, consultative and reflective of the aspirations and needs of the citizens. On the one hand we empower the poor and vulnerable and on the other we also strive for demand-driven reform.

I have 9 years’ diverse working experience in the Development as well as Corporate Sector. Currently I’m working as Executive Director at Peace & Justice Network (PJN). PJN is a national civil society network focusing on implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 on Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Currently PJN has 44 member organizations working in all provinces and regions of Pakistan.

In the corporate sector, I worked with Mobilink, a market leading brand in the telecom sector, as Executive in Planning & Development Department, where I was mainly involved in national level projects such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Health & Disaster Management, Mobile Commerce, ERP implementation, Cost Optimization Projects as well as ensuring process compliances.

Prior to working in Peace & Justice Network (PJN) as Executive Directory, Mr .Raza worked with Insaf Network Pakistan as Program Manager and acting Executive Director since its inception in July 2012 till May, 2016. With the support of my team, I have converted a small network establish in 2012 into one of the leading Rule of Law network in Pakistan. I have joined INP in 2012 as Project Manager on the UNDP Legal Empowerment of Poor Programme in Pakistan – Access to Justice Component, managing a workforce of more than 200 employees, implementing partners, lawyers, field teams and vendors. My last assignment with INP was heading INP as acting Executive Director and also was leading EDACE Legal Empowerment of Poor Project as Program Manager and responsible for giving technical guidance to other programs as well. I have also worked as Project Associate in the UNOPS Gender Justice & Protection Project (GJP) implemented in 91 districts across Pakistan. He has strong project implementation experience with donors like UNOPS, UNDP, DFID, UKAID, DAI, World Bank, Trocaire, The Asia Foundation and USAID. Mr. Ali firmly believes in the values of professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement.

Core purpose of joining Namati is to be part of Global Legal Empowerment Initiative.

Peace & Justice is currently CLSF secretariat. As a Network Coordinator I participate in planning, coordinating and monitoring and follow-up of the activities of the CLSF members and arrange periodic review meetings and discussions and reporting to the stakeholders.
Actively coordinate with the partners and other responsible parties and contracted institutions, for implementing the agenda and monitor their activities, and collate feedback on progress in implementation.
Identify capacity development needs of implementing partners and arrange for necessary trainings. Facilitate technical assistance/support for partners in all relevant areas as appropriate;
Ensure that knowledge products prepared under the previous phase of the meetings are of high quality and are disseminated and used by the relevant institutions and stakeholders;

Waheed has a Master degree in political Science from the University of Punjab; a LLB. From Pakistan College of Law and the University of Punjab,. Waheed’s areas of expertise include Child rights activist working for Peace, Human Dignity, Justice and Human Rights also working against Slavery and Human Trafficking As an Appellate Court Attorney for the past sixteen years, Waheed have had defended over a thousand clients, many of them Human Rights victims including Juveniles and Women .
