ORGANIZATION PROFILE

PROFA Uganda is a non-profit, national non-governmental organization found by a team of volunteer humanitarian workers and well wishers.

Our mission:

To undertake sustainable humanitarian development response programs to the vulnerable communities through health, education , livelihood ,WASH , protection and peace building to improve there quality of life and be self dependent .

PROFA’s Uganda’s  thematic program areas are;

  1. Protection/Peace building Program:

Protection and Peace building  is  Uganda’s  core program and is intended to provide expeditious, quality and timely protection of human rights , Peace building and justice  service to all.

  1. Education Program:

PROFA Uganda’s  education program tends to advocate for all children to be enrolled in school with key focus on promotion of girl child education by creating a link between communities, parents and the school through capacity development trainings to enhance them with knowledge on gender mainstreaming and value of educating the girl child. The program shall also look at major factor affecting girls continuation with education and respond there to.

  1. Livelihood Program

We promote community and youth empowerment through our livelihood programs for socio-economic transformation and development to have a quality and self- dependant  life.

  1. Health and Nutrition Program:

PROFA Uganda  provides better health protection for all in times of emergencies and development, save lives and builds a sustainable health system.Strengthening primary and secondary health care.

  1. WASH Program

We look at increasing access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene facilities in schools and communities. This program is one of our core to save lives and we intend to  work with stakeholders in combating numerous diseases like todays COVID-19  through strengthening the hygiene campaign in the communities  .

A qualified professional with wide range of skill in development and implementation of community programme in the areas of Protection and peace building, education promotion and Health (HIV/AIDS, Nutrition integrated in Child protection). I have 4 years’ experience working with non-governmental organizations on projects funded by UNICEF, WFP, UNDP and USAID. Currently i am the Executive Director of Protection For All (PROFA), i a leader and manager of the organisation, coordinates PROFA program activities through Planning, Research, Monitoring and evaluation as well as providing supervisory role to the Head of Program, Operations, M &E and HR Manager and reports to the Board of Directors. We are looking for funding opportunities to be able to achieve our objectives in protection and promotion of humanitarian and development programs through our thematic areas of Education , Protection, WASH, Livelihood ,Health and Nutrition . We also need IEC materials and other equipment's for training the youths on vocational skills to improve there status . We have so far trained adolescent girls/ PTA/SMCs on production of re-usable sanitary pads as this is to enhance retention of girl child to complete primary education cycle , we trained parents/care takers on child protection , support the vulnerable people and offered entrepreneurship training, carried awareness on GBV in the communities and did awareness on basic land policies to avert conflict and promote peace , we also offer bonobo services to needy clients . We as well participated in awareness for the prevention of and spread of COVID-19 in West Nile Uganda and we are going on . We plan to start back yard gardening at hose hold levels to promote income generation at homes and to be able to provide for the needs of the children and good feeding for all .
