Created in July 2010 in accordance with the law governing non-profit making associations in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the network is intended as a framework for the continuity of the broadcast Education for Human Rights and includes the former participants to the International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP) and the Regional Session of the Human Rights Training (RSHRT) organized by EQUITAS Canada and its partners. The DRC EQUITAS Network effectively participate in social transformation, which is the goal of human rights education. Potential beneficiaries of its programs are: members of the Congolese communities and countries bordering the DRC. Its main goal is: Social transformation is effective in the DRC and its neighboring countries, through activities on human rights education.

ASSOUMANI IBRAHIM KIAKWAMUNGU was born in Goma (North Kivu province of Democratic Republic of Congo) in December 18, 1975, has more than ten years of experience and work in the field of human rights and democracy training. He worked at the Carter Center as Program assistant of Human rights' house Program from September 2011 to January 2014 (www.mdhcongo.org) and from november 2014 as Traning Officer in Democratic Election Standards Program of The Carter Center in DRC (www.eos.cartercenter.org). He respects the diversity and has the team spirit, the faculty to the communication, the faculty to plan and to organize, the sense of responsibilities and the will of perfection. He is more creative and opening to the technology. He helps to strengthen the civil society organizations’ (CSO) capacities in the fields of data collection, reporting and advocacy to promote the human rights in DRC, specially in the East of the country and also in Africa and in the Word. He has good knowlegde in Project management and helps a lot of CSO in programming and implementing their activities in different fields (Agriculture, Health, Education...). From jun to november 2014, He worked as National Executive Secretary at ARTérial Network (www.arterialnetwork.org and www.artsinafrica.com), DRC Chapter, a dynamic, pan-African civil society network comprising artists, activists, organisations and institutions engaged in the African creative and cultural sectors. He is one of the former participants at the International Human Rights Traning Program (IHRTP) conducted by the International Human rights Training Center of Canada (EQUITAS-Canada: www.equitas.org ) and He is the Vice-Chairman of DRC EQUITAS Network of Human Rights’ Educators from IHRTP. ASSOUMANI IBRAHIM is a BRIDGE (Building Ressources in Democracy, Governance and Election) Workshop Facilitator (www.bridge-project.org) and He is also an ACE Network Facilitators (www.aceproject.org).
