Allan is a 40 year old male who believes in social justice.with Hope for justice i work as the youth justice officer. •To maintain contact with vulnerable persons for purposes of information gathering about street situations, arrest and counselling. To monitor trends on the streets, to guide the tailoring of safety messages delivered to them.
•To conduct preventative and rights awareness trainings to children on the streets, to equip them with information about their rights and obligations, and how to conduct themselves in the crisis of arrest.
•To intervene in matters of street connected children in Kampala, who get in contact with the law, ensuring that they are treated fairly and timely with the criminal justice system, their legal rights are upheld, and counselling them towards considering alternatives to lives of crime.
•To educate and create awareness among the general public, government and policy makers, or other entities such as private corporations, individuals on issues affecting or confronting the street children/families and need to align policies, laws, programs, projects to address their needs.
•To support post offenders into acquiring vocational skills to render them self-reliant and curb against re-offending tendencies.
The solidarity helps me in learning and supporting other activists in a global network based on solidarity.By connecting our experiences, narratives and proposals we help co-create and amplify social justice realities and to connect my struggles across movements.
