Right to Protection (R2P) is dedicated to protecting refugees, other vulnerable migrants - the internally displaced (IDPs), the stateless and those at risk of statelessness and the undocumented.

Presence in: Ukraine
Focus: Citizenship & Identification, Governance, Accountability & Transparency

Our mission: Right to Protection takes a holistic approach to aiding the internally displaced, persons in need of international protection, the stateless and those at risk of statelessness by providing direct legal assistance to individuals and advocating for all-encompassing changes to legal and institutional frameworks based on equality, dignity, compassion and in accordance with international human rights standards.

What we do: We provide our beneficiaries with direct legal services including representation before national and international authorities and courts, and help IDPs in Ukraine access state benefits and start afresh. In addition, we monitor the human rights situation in the field and promote social cohesion by administering community-participation initiatives aimed at integrating IDP and host communities. R2P also drives systemic change; we undertake advocacy, raise awareness of legal rights, litigate strategically at national and international forums, and perform legislative analysis and drafting to modernize and align Ukraine’s current legal frameworks with international human rights standards. R2P also works with administrative and law enforcement authorities, the judiciary, and state funded legal-aid providers as well as civil society to build their capacity to respond to challenges facing vulnerable population groups.
