The vision of RAA is to contribute to empowering Roma that will change position of Roma by fighting against exclusionary mechanisms. We work in Western Balkans Region and Turkey

RAA lobbies & advocates on Roma issues at local, national & international level. RAA is specialized in addressing issues, conducting analysis & developing new methods & strategies to tackle the exclusion of Roma people in Albania & Europe.
The activities cover capacity building of grassroots, coaching, facilitating local services and improving collaboration with local and central government.
EC granted to us the “Award on Roma Inclusion in Western Balkans & Turkey 2014”, to honour the contribution & the work of CSO in supporting social inclusion of Roma. (
Roma Active Albania (RAA) is one of the main stakeholders in the Roma Inclusion efforts. RAA is specialized in capacity-building, community mobilization and participation in policy-making. Being a watchdog organization and very often a leading organization in policy monitoring, has developed a strong advocacy component of the organization. Since 2016 RAA leads the regional project “Joint Initiative to Empower Roma Civil Society in Western Balkans and Turkey” with the support of the European Union, DG NEAR of the European Commission. Under this project RAA has established a National Coalition for Roma Inclusion, working on capacity-building and transparency of grassroots CSOs in order to build cooperation bridges with the local governments.
