With request of RV students and support of Roma Education Fund. Roma Versitas Kosovo is established as a local NGO on May 2017 and started to operate independently from Jun 2017.

From 2017 RV Kosovo has implemented different programs and projects for the inclusion of the Roma community in Kosovo society, programs such are Roma Versitas, Rolling Film Festivla, Advocacy Academy for Roma Youth e.t.c Many of the programs that RV Kosovo implemented were supported by financed from Roma Eduaction Fund, US Embassy Prishtina, Community Development Fund CDF, Council of Europe, Rockefeller Brother Fund, Ministry of Culture and Sports, Office for Communities of Priminister of Kosovo, UNMIK, Civil Rights Defenders CRD and Culture for Change.

In 2018 RV Kosovo has achieved to train its staff for Carrere advising and to establish career center for its beneficiaries. RV Kosovo in cooperation with Prishtina Consulting Group PCG achieved to train and employ more than 60 young Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians during the spring and summer 2018, as project financed from Swiss Helvetas.

Roma Versitas Kosovo is the only organization that mainly works with Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian students and youth throughout Kosovo, on daily basis. The work of this project has been going on for more than five years, and the leading staff gained more than 5 years of direct experience in support of 1000 Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian students and youth in three resource centers of Kosovo, Prishtina, Prizren and Peja.

Avni is a human rights activist, trainer and expert on Roma Inclusion. He has been working on Minority issues for over 15 years and holds a BA in Management from the University of Pjeter Budi.
Avni was born in Prishtina, in 1987. Lives Plemetina, a small multi-ethnic village in Kosovo. Avni’s mother tongue is Romani, speaks fluently in 3 languages: Albanian, English and Serbian. As a young activist, Avni managed local NGO “Romano Resaipe”, here he published an article entitled “The needs and problems of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian in the municipality of Obiliq”, which has shaped his interest and engagement with the topic over the years. His professional experience includes working with Balkan Sunflowers International, as a production media manager, where he produced over 50 eyewitness reports related to Roma life in Kosovo and North Macedonia. All reports were broadcast by public television in Kosovo RTK.
He the Director of the Rolling Film Festival, for films made by and about Roma to fight discrimination and dispel negative stereotypes, which were well attended by all facets of Kosovo society. He also worked as a trainer and production manager during the shooting of Cikore Filmya.

Since June of 2017, Avni is the Executive Director of Roma Versitas Kosovo, a leading student support organization with more than 10 different programs and projects seeking better inclusion of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian community members in Kosovo’s society.
Avni Mustafa is the network champion (main point of contact) for Roma Verstias Kosovo.
