Chris Amalu holds a Master of Science degree in Parasitology, also a doctorate prospect of the Public Health Parasitology, University of Nigeria Nsukka. He has professional certifications from Harvard University on Malaria; University of Washington on Leadership and Management in Health; and WHO/TDR/MOOC on Implementation Research - International Institute of Global Health, United Nations University, (UNU-IIGH), Monash University, Malaysia. He is versatile with over 16 years’ experience in project management, public health, health systems strengthening, consultancy on human development issues, policy, strategy, and management with key interest in malaria, HIV/AIDS, MNCH and other infectious diseases of poverty – both in employment and consultancy. He started his NGO career with the Royal Healthcare Foundation and dedicated his professional life to fighting HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria from community interventions to running international programs. He joined DFID funded Health Reform Foundation of Nigeria (HERFON) 2011-2013 as South East Zonal Program Officer, played a key role in the Health Sector Reforms, Routine Immunization and Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH). He eventually moved on to Deloitte Consulting LLP. US, USAID-SIDHAS project, 2013-2017, as the Organizational Development Advisor/Health Systems Strengthening, overseeing institutional and financial technical assistance, Continuous Quality Improvement across state agencies and CBOs, advocacy, policy, strategies, resource mobilization and sustainable financing of USAID/SIDHAS projects. Chris was a National Consultant (Health Policy) to the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (2012 -2016). He is the Coordinator/Secretary, Governor’s Task Force (GTF) on COVID-19 Containment Enugu State. He is responsible for programmatic programming of technical implementation, operative containment strategies of GTF, monitoring, evaluation & learning, stakeholders’ engagement and management and media relationships. He is married with two boys and three girls.
