Shishu Sarothi, Centre for Rehabilitation and Training for Multiple Disability, a non-profit organization in the Northeast region of India since 1987, works in the area of education, training and manpower development, early intervention and rehabilitation, livelihood and protection of rights of persons with disabilities. To materialize its vision of empowerment of persons with disabilities in the Northeast of India, the organization endeavors to gain justice, equality, and dignity of all stakeholders in the region. Through its work it strives to enable persons with disabilities to attain and maintain maximum independence and full inclusion and participation in all aspects of life.

In recognition of its achievements, Shishu Sarothi received the National Award for Best Institution (Additional) from the then President of India in 2004, and also the State Award for Best Community Service from the Chief Minister of Assam in 2007.

To uphold and advocate for rights of persons with disabilities, ensure equal opportunities and promote their inclusion and participation in a barrier-free environment.

An inclusive society where children and persons with disabilities will have equal opportunities and be empowered to participate freely and fully and live with dignity and respect
