The survivor is still at the helm of the organization as the National Coordinator. SACMA’s Vision is, “Sustainable and stable communities enjoying peaceful co-existence,” while its Mission is, “To build the capacities of vulnerable and marginalized citizens to enable them to manage potential and existing crises using community inclusive approaches. We promote gender equality, youth empowerment, inclusivity, diversity as well as transparency and accountability.” Currently in Harare, the organization is working with the Tashinga group of the disabled from Dzivarasekwa and in Mutoko District (Mashonaland East Province), it is building the economic resilience of widows living with HIV/AIDS in Dhumaira village supported by United States (U.S) Embassy through the PEPFAR. SACMA’s key focus areas in Zimbabwe are:
• Pandemics
• Poverty Alleviation
• Peace
• Crime alleviation (violence and criminal activities)
• Climate Change
SACMA, although a fairly young organization has successfully implemented some community centered projects as attested by the recent Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) report from the U.S Embassy in Harare. SACMA’s work is anchored in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, a document to which Zimbabwe and most Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) countries are a signatory.

I am the founder and current coordinator for SACMA,a community based organisation. We empower marginalized and vulnerable communities as a way to attenuate their crises. The crises range from natural to man made. Our interventions spread from constitutional awareness, paralegal capacity building, building economic resilience and pandemic as well as epidemic fighting measures. In Mutoko District which is in Mashonaland East Province of Zimbabwe for example, deriving from a research by Human Rights Watch Southern Africa,(SACMA participated) it was revealed that Widows some who are HIV positive, have lost their properties including land after the death of their husbands. The land is usually taken by the husband's s in-laws.Consequently,they now poverty-stricken.This is because they lack knowledge of the law and in some cases they can not afford the cost of lawyers. In this Area SACMA is working to train some of the affected widows in paralegal so that they can represent other widows now and beyond. In the same area again SACMA has established a farming project were 50 HIV positive ladies are generating income. In Goromonzi and Marondera Districts SACMA with he support from US Embassy Harare we are implementing HIV Community Led Monitoring (CLM) project. The project have seen SACMA training and deploying 26 Community Health Advocates (CHA) .We therefore strives to empower marginalise commuters in Zimbabwe and beyond using locally derived solutions.
