  • Sustainable Action (SA) is a Community Based Organization (CBO)

VISION:People with poverty & disease to have life in all its fullness.

MISSION: To serve families and communities in vulnerable conditions by strengthening capacity for self-reliance.

OBJECTIVE

To create an enabling environment for vulnerable people, to realize their potential and participate, to promote sustainable change.

(4A)Strategic Area 1: Health & Rights

Strategic Objective: To improve health and well- being of communities by reducing the impacts of HIV, TB, Malaria and Sexual Reproductive & Health Rights among adolescents and women of reproductive age.

(4B) Strategic Area 2: Education

Strategic Objective: To empower children, adolescents and young people, through life skills education & mentorship to improve nurturing care and quality of education.

(4C)Strategic Area 3: Economic Empowerment

Strategic Objective: To improve economic situation by way of unlocking economic opportunities.Education and mentorship on available options identified by the community.

 

  •  Promotes Community action learning as a way of holding communities accountable in implementing their own action plans based on their prioritization and real felt need. Conducts targeted approach based on need and evidence. The CBO provides girls empowerment, curative services, disease prevention services, service delivery to adolescents and young people (Reproductive health mentorship, rights education, HIV/AIDs services, mentorship and life skills including provision of health services). Operates a health clinic where the general population, including adolescents and young people come for free health education services. Engages the services of volunteer mentors who also double as community paralegals and mainly conduct house to house visit and conduct need based education at family level.
