Violent crime is deeply entrenched in some developing countries, particularly in Africa. Unresolved legal problems can disadvantage and increase social exclusion unless legal assistance is made available to members of the community. Most citizens are not educated about the importance of the constitution therefore they do not know their rights e.g rape victims are ashamed to report such cases. Citizens are not educated on the steps to take when victimized.  We have managed to create a platform that protects citizens from crime and utilizes artificial intelligence to educate citizens on the steps to take when victimized. Our goal is to use mobile technology to establish the legal information needs of citizens, determine problems that they face in accessing legal information and provide strategies to reduce crime. The application we developed provides the citizens with the country’s constitution to help educate them about human rights and steps to take when finding a lawyer. The platform will also allow citizens to report crime in real time. Justice Today (the application) has an artificial intelligence feature that allows citizens to capture crime scenes and reports to the government directly, and a panic button to alert the government. The application also provides citizens with easy access to your nearest police station.
