Thailand Institute of Justice, or TIJ, was established by the Royal Thai Government in 2011. It aims to promote excellence in research and capacity – building in crime and justice. Building on Thailand’s engagement in the UN Commission on crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and the UN Crime Congresses, TIJ serve as a bridge that transports global ideas to local practice, including in enhancing domestic justice reform and the rules-based community within the ASEAN region.

Dr. Sita Sumrit is a chief of women and children empowerment programme of the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ). She worked previously as regional research coordinator for Oxfam Asia and gender officer at the FAO in Vietnam. Sita obtained a PhD. focusing on women empowerment from University of Cambridge.
