To date, our projects are in all districts of Unguja and Pemba and are serving many communities. PIRO’s expertise and commitment are focused on supporting communities to be able to develop; plan, implement and monitor (manage) projects that will lead to healthy, well-informed, self-sufficient and responsible citizens. In any project PIRO is involved with, a package of core approaches and services are deployed. These core services and cross-cutting issues include:
i. Educational approaches that lead to behaviour change, including SBCC materials
ii. Improve people awareness to their rights and obligations

iv. Well-being of those most vulnerable: Improving the human rights of key populations and other affected groups
v. Empowerment approaches: PIRO services are directed to empowerment rather than a welfare approach. PIRO works under the following program areas: Livelihood and Social Protection; Democracy, Civic Engagement and Accountability; Strengthening Integrity and Capacity of Justice Sector; Education Development; Biodiversity Conservation and Climate Change
