The Legal Empowerment Program (LEP) at the Right Question Institute advances justice by helping legal advocates serving marginalized or disadvantaged communities act as catalysts for client agency. We teach simple, powerful methods for people to learn to ask their own questions and participate in decisions; two skills that are critically important for agency. Legal advocates and community activists use these methods to help the people they serve feel a new sense of self-efficacy, have a voice in decisions that affect them, and advocate for themselves, in the legal system and beyond.

Our vision is a world in which all people are equipped with the skills to navigate systems, advocate, take effective action on their own behalf and on behalf of their communities, and achieve more just outcomes for all.

The Right Question Institute (RQI) is a nonprofit organization offering an educational strategy that builds people’s skills to ask better questions and participate in decisions that affect them. RQI’s innovative methods are delivered through educational institutions, health care organizations, social services, community-based organizations, and public agencies across the globe.

I am an attorney and the Legal Empowerment Program Director at the Right Question Institute. I partner with legal professionals to adapt RQI's methods for legal practice settings serving low-income communities. Prior to joining RQI, I was a legal fellow with Centro de los Derechos del Migrante (CDM) in Mexico City, where I supported migrant workers in defending their rights as they moved between their home communities in Mexico and their places of work in the United States. I am excited to be a part of a network of legal empowerment organizations and people fighting for justice across the globe. I look forward to learning from other network members and sharing resources.
Naomi Campbell is the network champion (main point of contact) for The Right Question Institute.
