BRIEF HISTORY OF TIPDO

TIPDO, which was established in 2004 in Makeni in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone as a community based organization (CBO) by five human rights activists, was initially called Compassion for Street Children and Abused Girl-Mothers (COSCAM). The organization’s first focused was on protecting and promoting the human rights of the vulnerable and marginalized rural poor children especially those in the streets, sexually abused children and girl mothers just after the war.

After undergoing successive implementation of various rehabilitation projects, the organization was transformed into a local NGO in 2007.
