Organization activities and catchment area:

The Organization operates in close partnership with local communities and local government in the areas of needs identified by the communities themselves

Geographical, Social and Economic Background of the Organization Catchment Area:

Uganda Eyenkya Development Group (UEDPG) operates in Kalungu District located in southern Central sub region of Uganda. Kalungu District is bordered by Gomba District to the north, Butambala District to the north east, Mpigi District to the East, Masaka District to the south and Bukomansimbi to the West. The District has a total population as of July 2012 was estimated at 177,200 people with a density of 218.3/Km2

Human Rights:

UEDPG has a deep belief in the power of human rights learning for economic and social transformation. We have worked directly with the community members and the district council to develop and advance the learning about human rights as way of life

Orphans and Vulnerable Children:

We believe every child has the right to be loved…Love is a force which inspires, empowers, liberates, creates and sustains. Above all, we must provide for the orphans of Uganda a love which enables them to love and care for those around them

Self Help Women Groups:

Women in Kalungu are finding that there’s strength in numbers: if they pool their resources together in self-help groups of their own creation, they can radically change their lives

UEDPG envisions a healthy and economically productive society where all orphans and other vulnerable children live and grow to their full potential.
