Ugandan Coalition for Comprehensive Development through Agro-Vet Program (UCCD) is Women led organization that was first established in 2011 as an association under Local Government. This allowed us to work as a Community Based Organization and equipped us with valuable experience in establishing community managed grass root structures for sustainability. We built against this backdrop and were granted legal status as a local NGO after registration at National NGO board, Ministry of internal affairs in 2013 under registration number 10332

UCCD seeks to identify and develop approaches that achieve dynamic rural development that explicitly contribute towards advancing economic, environmental and social justice for women. We mainstreamed women into climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies to develop policies, plans, and projects that advance women empowerment, natural resources conservation, improved local livelihoods and economic development for the indigenous people well-being.

The plan adopts cost effective participatory approach that involve indigenous people enrollment to influence in planning.

We have created regional partnership network called SYNCHRONIZED SOLUTIONS FOR PEOPLE AND NATURE (SSPN), comprised of Agency for Sustainable Rural Transformation (AFSRT), Ugandan Coalition for Comprehensive Development (UCCD), Women’s Innovative Strategies for Empowerment (WISE) and Rural Women  Development Concern (RWDC)   An integration of the four different organizations build on a solid foundation of civic society experience and interest.
