Umunthu Plus is local Malawian NGO established in 2015 by the group of young women primary school teachers. The organization is focusing on health and SRHR, education, human rights and general livelihood targeting most vulnerable population with primary target being women, girls and children. The organization envisions a community that breaks the cycle of Human suffering. Main focus areas include; Health (SRHR,) Education, Livelihood and gender and human rights. Further, it is guided by the objectives below;

1. To strengthen human capacity for marginalized people to provide them with an environment
in which they realize their full potentials through promotion
2. To Enhance and Strength the effective engagement and dialogue between duty bearers
and right holders in service delivery improvement.
3. To improve the general livelihoods of the rural marginalized communities more
especially women and girls.
4. To facilitate the marginalized population empowerment particularly vulnerable girls and
young women of Malawi through provision of knowledge and skills around health and SRHR. We believe in bottom-up and holistic, focusing on individual behaviour change amongst most
vulnerable population (women, girls and children) as well as systematic change in policy and practice towards a more supportive environment for women development focusing on education, health (SRHR) and Human Rights. We deliver grassroots programes in most hard to reach and underserved areas targeting vulnerable young people, girls, children and women. We believe in empowering the community to handle their own challenges with long lasting solutions using human rights approach. Our programs have greatly contributed to positive impacts to our target population where they have managed to acquire necessary support and sustainable ways in defending their rights while deepening their understanding in participation and action towards issues that affect them. We have won seats in many networks of NGOs.
