UNCOCHA is based in Haiti actually. Its mission is to coordinate all humanitarian preparedness and response including information management.

Focal Point for Communication with Communities and Community Engagement and partners; Plan and adopt adequate emergency preparedness measures through the development and updating of country contingency plans and establishment of early warning mechanisms, to ensure effective preparedness and response to specific emergencies; Monitors, analyzes and reports on humanitarian developments, disaster relief/management or emergency situations in Port-au-Princes and on the fields; Provide support and technical assistance to CERF funds teams of Haiti, prepare for and participate in field trips to undertake in-depth reviews of specific country coordination mechanisms in coordination with relevant staff; Prepare or contributes to the preparation of guidelines related to country based pooled funds and drafts various written reports, documents and communications; Plan, organize and conduct training for NGO and government services staff capacity building in emergencies preparedness and response. Assist in developing and conducting emergency training courses. Provides assessment tools and briefing. Participates in other emergency training workshops in the region, and builds up the emergency preparedness and response capability of OCHA staff as well as implementing partners; Construct and maintain continuous, effective and strategic coordination, communication, consultation and liaison with Government, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and partners to appeal for assistance vulnerable persons with special needs resulting from the emergency situation requiring an effective emergency response in all sectors. Ensures that OCHA support is effectively provided to the government and communities with respect to sectoral coordination within the framework of humanitarian principles; Participate in all humanitarian and recovery related forum and keeps management informed of all humanitarian developments in the country in terms of policies, strategy, situation developments and opportunities.
