Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa (YiSHDA) is a non – governmental organization registered with the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2013 with registration certificate number CAC/IT/No 60340. YiSHDA’s Vision is to be ‘A Pillar for African Youth Development’ and with a mission to ‘Build Tomorrow’s Leaders Today’.  YiSHDA has carved a niche for itself in the design and implementation of programs targeted at young people with special focus on Economic Empowerment, Civic Engagement, Education, and Mentorship. YiSHDA is a resourceful organization that ensures quality delivery of programs to beneficiaries while building their trust and confidence in our ability to deliver, we leverage on the wealth of skills and experiences of our dynamic and committed team members to drive in the desired effect.

YiSHDA designed and implemented the Emerging Young Leaders Program across three states in Nigeria (Abuja, Nasarawa, and Kaduna) with support from the World Bank Youth Forum as a medium for youths to identify, explore and maximize their potentials as leaders making a difference in the society.

YiSHDA designed and implemented the Leadership & Capacity Building Training for Secondary School Prefect across ten (10) secondary schools in Abuja. The training provided valuable opportunities for prefects of secondary schools to develop their potentials and obtain self-growth. The training was conducted with special support from the FCT Education Department.

YiSHDA also implemented the Beyond Access Nigeria Project across 16 Northern State in Nigeria with funding from the International Research & Exchanges Boards (IREX)-USA. Beyond Access Nigeria Project is an initiative which works with public libraries to increase access to information, digital skills and economic opportunities.

Joseph Emmanuel Yaba was born in the year 13th August 1985 into the Family of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph K. Abaniwo in Jos, Plateau State and hails from Emi-Andrew in Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria.

He started his Primary Education at L.E.A Primary School phase 2, Nyanya, Abuja and obtained the First School-Leaving Certificate in 1998. In 2004, He obtained the National Business and Technical Certificate from Government Science & Technical College Area 3, Garki, Abuja with flying colors and thereafter proceeded to Federal Polytechnic Idah, Kogi-State for His National Diploma (ND) where He studied Computer Science and graduated in 2009. After which He attended the Lagos Business School where He studied Venture in Enterprise and Management in 2011 and finally to Weitz Centre for Sustainable Development, Israel (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) where He got trained on Policies, Strategies and Support Systems for Rural Revitalization in 2014.

Joseph Emmanuel Yaba is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa (YiSHDA) were he currently worked and partnered with reputable organizations in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ukraine, South Korea and the USA. His success stories have so far been captured and published in National Dailies like Leadership Newspaper, Vanguard Newspaper, Daily Trust Newspaper, Blue Print Newspaper, The Sun Newspaper, and Nigeria Pilot Newspaper. Joseph Yaba has also been featured on both National and International Media like Airtel Touching Lives Television Series, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), African Independent Television (AIT), Channels Television, Lagos TV, EbonyLife TV, Ethiopia Television, Voice of Nigeria, BBC, We FM, Wazobia FM, Kapital FM, and Afro FM.

Joseph Emmanuel Yaba is a young visionary leader who has demonstrated leadership abilities among young people globally. He has also represented Nigeria in so many international events and platforms and was awarded the title of Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP) in 2014 by virtue of ascending into Jerusalem and also awarded a Membership Status by the Weitz Centre for Sustainable Development, Israel. Joseph Yaba believes that the tomorrow of every youth is, in fact, today and not tomorrow and youths who aspire to lead, must start by making a difference TODAY.

Joseph Emmanuel Yaba currently works with the African Union Commission HQ in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
