We operate in Wakiso and Mukono districts.Its Mission is to contribute to an environment that empowers children and youth with disabilities to realize full social, political and inclusive development.

Youth with Physical Disabilities Development Forum is a community-based organization established by youth with disabilities in 2002 and registered in 2005

The organization has three distinct but interrelated structures including:

The General Assembly

The General Assembly, on a five year term, elects the Board of Directors and approves organisational policies and reports.

 

The Board of Directors

Which is composed of 11 members (6 males and 5 females),is responsible for steering the organization’s direction

The Secretariat,

This is headed by the Executive Director, is made up of 15 staffs (7 males and 8 females).It is responsible for implementing the decisions of the Board of Directors and manages the day-to-day implementation of organisational policies and programs.

YPDDF implements the following programs and interventions

Economic empowerment

YPDDF  identifies vulnerable youth with disability in communities where we work from, they form groups  YPDDF has been improving the livelihood of youth with disabilities through empowerment in terms of skills and competencies in managing viable income generation activities as well as empowering Youth with disabilities households to be able to meet their basic needs.

 

HIV and AIDS and Sexual Reproductive Health program

This program focus on addressing the following objectives in order to increase access to information, reproductive health and HIV&AIDS services by Youth and children with disabilities in Wakiso and Mukono districts.

Human Rights and disability

The program area also focus on documentation and redress mechanisms for human rights violation against children and youth.  increase knowledge on rights and existing redress mechanisms,

Access to Inclusive Education through changing the lives of children with disabilities.

Promoting and supporting inclusive education program for children with disabilities in school community and at home
