The Zambia Institute of Environmental Management (ZIEM) is a member based Non Governmental organisation that is committed to the principle of sustainable development through training, promotion environmental justice and governance, advocacy and policy engagement. ZIEM’s strategy is to increase participation in environmental management and to empower people to sustainably use natural resources.

The mission statement of Zambia Institute of Environmental Management is to promote environmental management, governance and justice in Zambia and beyond, through Training, Advocacy, Lobbying, Practice and Policy.

ZIEM focuses on community , institution and organization capacity development while covering specific important emerging environment management themes.

How do we carry our mandate ?

We design and undertake projects with communities to demonstrate best practices
We Conduct training and capacity building to communities & other organisations on environmental matters
We conduct Research and Impact Assessments of developmental project on Environment and society
We contribute to public learning Compiling publications, research reports, advocacy and lobby through media ( Print and electronic)
We promote environmental justice and governance
We conduct lobby and advocacy activities to the various stakeholders
