The Zambia Institute of Environmental Management (ZIEM) is a member based Non Governmental organisation that is committed to the principle of sustainable development through training, promotion environmental justice and governance, advocacy and policy engagement. ZIEM’s strategy is to increase participation in environmental management and to empower people to sustainably use natural resources.

The mission statement of Zambia Institute of Environmental Management is to promote environmental management, governance and justice in Zambia and beyond, through Training, Advocacy, Lobbying, Practice and Policy.

ZIEM focuses on community , institution and organization capacity development while covering specific important emerging environment management themes.

How do we carry our mandate ?

We design and undertake projects with communities to demonstrate best practices
We Conduct training and capacity building to communities & other organisations on environmental matters
We conduct Research and Impact Assessments of developmental project on Environment and society
We contribute to public learning Compiling publications, research reports, advocacy and lobby through media ( Print and electronic)
We promote environmental justice and governance
We conduct lobby and advocacy activities to the various stakeholders

Natural Resource Management ( University of Zambia), Certificate Environmental Management (CIEH,UK) , international Water Law (University of Dundee, UK), Certificate strategic financial management ( Mango UK), certificate in Corporate Governance (Zambia), Diploma in Organisation management( DFC,Denmark) , PG Diploma Multilateral Environmental Agreement (MEAs) (University of Eastern Finland and Fudan University, China ) , Certificate in Natural resources and Environmental Economics, (University of Pretoria South Africa), Certificate in Forestry, law Enforcement, Governance and Trade( FLEGT) ( Ghana) Morgan 36 Zambian specialized in Environmental Management, Natural resources Management, research, Strategic Planning, technical training and environmental advocacy with now seven (9) years’ experience in service provision to Civil Society Organisations, communities and government. Morgan is the team player with excellent organizational and management skills. This is demonstrated in appointments as a team leader on various assignments at institutional, civil society, National and International level he undertaken with colleagues. He has analytical, exceptional communication and report writing skills. Morgan is the founder and Chief executive officer of Zambia institute of Environmental Management (ZIEM) a professional environmental NGO, involved in Environmental Training, Advocacy, practice, Lobbying and policy. By joining this network, i want to learn from others on best practices of promoting grassroots and community justices as it relates to environment, natural resources, access to information and governance. Also to share some useful experience i have accumulated over the years of active practices and research in around empowering the poor and vulnerable people in society. apart from that also to seek opportunities to network and interact with people from all walks of life and backgrounds in this platform.
