Manonkoh Village Demands Redress from London Mining Company

July 25, 2012

Residents of the Manonkoh Village in Sierra Leone’s Port Loko District have unanimously agreed to take the London Mining Company to court.  The village holds that the operations by the British company flooded their swamps, thereby destroying 350 hectares of rice farm for the past two farming seasons.

Namati stands with the people of Manonkoh village in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone to demand redress from flooding caused by the London Mining Company.  Read more coverage here and a letter to the company from program director Sonkita Conteh here.
