Eleanor is a Sierra Leonean human rights lawyer. In addition to legal practice and policy advocacy, her professional experience includes extensive civil society engagement and community outreach. Prior to Namati, she led a number of human rights and rule of law-related portfolios for the Africa Regional Office of the Open Society Foundations. She has worked in various capacities with the Coalition for the International Criminal Court, the Public International Law and Policy Group, the Open Society Justice Initiative, and a Sierra Leonean NGO – the Centre for Accountability and the Rule of Law. Eleanor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Government and African Studies from Harvard University, a Juris Doctor degree from American University Washington College of Law, and is currently pursuing a Masters in International Human Rights Law at the University of Oxford. She has been admitted to the Sierra Leone Bar, the New York State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
