Aye Aye Aung

Junior Program Officer, Myanmar, Yangon, Myanmar

Aye Aye Aung is originally from Kalay Township, Sagaing Division, near the Myanmar-India border.

She has previously worked as a Governance Program Officer with OXFAM in Rakhine State (the most vulnerable area in Myanmar). She has also been a volunteer with University Kebangsaan Malaysia for Asean Youth Volunteer Program in Phnom Penh, Cambodia as well as a trainer for Scholar Institute for Civic and Voter Education Training. In 2014 she served as a coach with Friedrich Naumann Foundation (Germany) for the promotion of Sim Democracy Game.

Aye Aye holds Bachelor of Arts in English from Kalay University near Chin State. After graduating, she was selected to attend one year program, “Community Leadership and Social Studies” by Kant Kaw Education Center from Thabyay Education Foundation, and also she was elected as a student association member among 70 ethnic students from different States and Divisions of Myanmar. While an undergraduate, she was an assistant in Nay Tha Donated Wisdom Class from her native town for over five years. She also has a certificate for ASEAN Youth Volunteer Programme (Project Cycle Management) from International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a certificate for Interpersonal Conflict Management workshop by Oxfam in Myanmar.

In her free time, Aye Aye enjoys participating in social activities– her hobbies include singing, travelling and motivating others.
