Manju Menon

Director, Environmental Justice Program, New Delhi, India (in collaboration with Centre for Policy Research)

Manju has researched environmental decision-making process in the regulatory and public arenas since the completion of her Masters Program at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in 1998. Her areas of work are the environmental law making and implementation processes related to the siting and regulation of infrastructure projects. She has investigated these processes in the context of hydropower, coal and nuclear power projects. These research projects and advocacy for improved decision making have been collaborative efforts undertaken in partnership with local community organizations, regional and thematic networks. She was awarded the Nehru-Fulbright Professional and Research fellowship in 2011 to study at the Anthropology Department, Yale University. She has been a member of Kalpavriksh, an environment research group, since 2000. She has written on environment related subjects for the popular media and has several publications to her credit.
