Myint Thwin has extensive experience as a legal advisor, advocate, politician and legal aid lawyer. Since 2009, he has worked with farmers on over 100 political land grab cases, and 300 more civil and criminal land cases.
Myint began his career in 1987 as a Higher Grade Pleader and became an Advocate in 1990. From 1989 to 2010, he was a politician and legal aid lawyer for civil and criminal defense cases in the National League Democracy (NLD). He has worked for MLaw and Earth Rights International, and since 2010 his work has specialized in Human Rights, Citizen Protection/ Rights, the Myanmar Constitution, Land Laws, the Land Confiscation Act and Forest Laws.
