Sung Chin Par

Policy Officer, Myanmar , Yangon, Myanmar

Sung Chin Par is Namati’s Myanmar Policy Officer. She comes to the organization with 10-years experience working with non-governmental organizations, including ECODEV/ALARM, International Media Support (IMS), Namati and GRET, working on issues ranging from democracy, election, land, media and environmental rights. Sung also worked with International IDEA on public financial management and election issues. Her experience also includes short-term consultancies with local organizations including IFI Watch Myanmar, Myanmar Institute for Policy Studies and Scholar Institute.

Sung graduated with a degree in Zoology. She has taken numerous certifications courses provided by non-governmental organizations in her post-graduate career, including a three-month intensive certificate course on Social Entrepreneurship and a four-month certificate course on Research Methodology. She has also completed a nine-month diploma course on Politics and Public Policy and is working on a forthcoming thesis.

Sung proudly hails from Chin State, a poor yet beautiful and hilly region of Myanmar. She is an avid traveler and enjoys indulging in good food and friends along the way.
