Being Mr. Nobody

The video was made in March 2012 as a part of the Roma Protection, Prevention and Promotion Project in Bulgaria, implemented by the Bulgarian Institute for Legal Initiatives Foundation. The main activity under the project is the operation of a legal clinic, providing pro bono legal consultations to selected Roma communities. One of the greatest challenges that was registered by paralegals working under the project was the inability of many people to obtain identification documents. The current regulations on address registration make the issuance of identity documents directly dependent on the possession of property or a tenancy agreement.
