Este estudio tiene como objetivo realizar una encuesta acerca de la implementación del Convenio 189 y de la Ley Complementaria No. 150/2015 en Brasil, a la luz de los nuevos retos planteados por la coyuntura actual. Para ello, utilizamos como metodología el análisis de contenido sobre esta implementación, sobre el papel de las sindicalistas de la categoría en este proceso, además de aportar datos cuantitativos que nos muestran los desafíos actuales. Por lo tanto, este informe presenta una breve historia de cómo se movilizaron las trabajadoras del hogar sindicalizadas en acuerdos internacionales y en la construcción de una legislación más igualitaria en Brasil, seguido de una breve descripción de la implementación del Convenio 189 y la implementación de la Ley Complementaria No. 150 / 2015, finalizando con los datos cuantitativos y las recomendaciones clave. Ese estudio se llevó a cabo como parte del proyecto “Mujeres, Dignidad y Trabajo” (MDT) del Programa Igual Valor, Iguales Derechos (IGS), coordinado por CARE y Themis – Género, Justicia y Derechos Humanos.

The goal of this study is to undertake a survey regarding the implementation of Convention 189 and Complementary Law N. 150/2015 (Ley Complementaria) in Brazil, in the light of the new challenges posed by the current context. To do so, we used a content analysis methodology regarding such implementation, the role of unionists in the process, and also included quantitative data about the current challenges. This report presents a brief story on how unionized domestic workers mobilized regarding international agreements and in the construction of a more egalitarian legislation in Brazil, followed by a brief description of the implementation of Covention 189 and the Complementary Law N. 150/2015, finalizing wotj quantitative data and key recommendations. This study was undertaken as part of the project “Women, Dignity and Work” (MTD, acronym in Spanish) of the Program Same Value, Same Rights (IGS, acronym in Spanish), coordinated by CARE and Themis – Gender, Justice and Human Rights.
