Deprivation, Life and Struggles of the Tea Garden Workers

Tea garden workers of Bangladesh are victim of economic, social and cultural discrimination. Life in the tea garden labor line resembles very little the life outside the garden. Knowledge of the people inside about the life outside is that of a distant star. A constant flow of deprivation and oppression have created a paradigm of fear and distance in the mind of the tea garden workers about the mainstream society. This resource reveals the exploitation and struggles of tea garden work, a dominant occupation among Dalits in Bangladesh.
