Esta investigación busca contribuir a hacer visible al mencionado Consejo Comunitario presentando su caso como un reflejo de lo que son las afectaciones y el desconocimiento de los derechos étnicos de las comunidades negras en Colombia, especialmente con la puesta en marcha de megaproyectos de infraestructura. Por la magnitud de los intereses empresariales, políticos y sociales, así como por las especiales condiciones en las que está la comunidad, se considera que la situación del Consejo Comunitario de Puerto Girón puede ser útil para el acercamiento a las tensiones que se presentan hoy en el país relacionadas con las definiciones sobre territorio y desarrollo.

In the heart of the Antiochian Urabá there is a black territory, the Commmunity Council of Puerto Girón (Consejo Comunitario de Puerto Girón), that since 2001 has has anticipated the demand for the realisation of its right to land and territory. This research aims to contribute to making such Community Council visible, presenting its case as a reflection fo the affectations and lack of knowledge of the ethnic rights of black communities in Colombia, in particular in the context of infrastructure megaprojects.
