National Report – The Netherlands

The Dutch Legal Aid system provides legal aid to people of limited means. A body called the Legal Aid Board (‘Raad voor Rechtsbijstand’) is entrusted with all matters concerning administration, supervision and expenditure as well as with the actual implementation of the Legal Aid System. This brochure, issued by the Legal Aid Board, provides a broad outline of the legal aid system in the Netherlands, as well as a survey of the current facts and figures concerned with legal aid.
