Reporting on Sexual Violence: A Guide for Journalists

This guide is intended to support the work of journalists in reporting sexual violence by providing insights into current trends, analysis of recent major news stories, resources to report on sexual violence with accuracy and sensitivity, sources for statistics and information as background to news stories, and contacts for local, state, and national experts on sexual violence. Using input from journalists, state and federal administrators, victim advocates, legal and law enforcement professionals, and educators, the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Violence prepared this guide to educate journalists on sexual violence and improve the standards of reporting on sexual violence cases.
