Right to Information helps a youth get his due

Deepak Vishwakarma lives in the village of Dharwara in Katni district in Madhya Pradesh. His father was employed with the Public Works Department of the State Government as a time keeper. He passed away while in service in 1995. The MP Government has a policy of providing employment to a member of the bereaved family on compassionate grounds in such cases. Deepak, the eldest son, was only 15 years old at the time of his father’s death. So he could not avail himself of this job opportunity. Deepak’s mother was assured that he would be given a government job as soon as he passed the Class XII exams.
