Securing Women’s Rights to Land in Burundi

This video showcases the Women’s Land Rights Project (International Fund for Agricultural Development) in Burundi, which helps rural women assert their legal rights to land tenure. Although Burundian women have the right to inherit land, male family members often confiscate their land anyway. The IFAD program raises awareness about land tenure rights and helps beneficiaries pursue land cases in court.
