Wapichan Environmental Monitoring Report

This report presents an overview of the South Rupununi District Council (SRDC) Monitoring Programme and provides a case study of one particular site that the Monitoring Programme has been targeting – Marudi Mountain. The report begins with background information regarding the Monitoring Programme and how it operates. It continues by providing a summary of the data that the monitors have collected to date, before continuing into a detailed discussion of the findings from the Monitoring Programme as related to Marudi Mountain. The report shows how the data collected by the SRDC Monitoring Programme has been corroborated by other sources and how it can be used to help address violations of the law and of our rights as indigenous peoples.
