Mary Joan (MJ) joined Namati as the Special Assistant to the CEO/COO in October 2023. Prior to becoming a member of the team, she worked part-time and pursued her 200hr Yoga Teaching Certification. Before that, MJ was the Operations Manager at a boutique consulting firm serving mission-driven organizations to find and retain talent and to complete compensation and equity studies. MJ is a Teach For America corps member alum from the Mississippi Delta. She taught middle school Spanish and coached three sports. MJ completed her Masters in Public Policy and Administration through Northwestern University in 2022. She has a Bachelor in Economics and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In her free time, you will find MJ reading a good book, playing fetch with Winston, or on an adventure with her partner Kyle.
