I am a Unit Manager with the OSF Human Rights Initiative (HRI). My focus is on supporting activism to prevent the erosion of human rights protections and challenge discrimination, impunity, and threats to democratic space with a focus on criminal justice and law enforcement. I am responsible for related strategy development and grant making. Before joining HRI, I held various positions within the OSF network including as the Law Program Manager at the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa and as a Program Director at the Open Society Foundation for South Africa. I have experience working across the African continent, in South and South East Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Eurasia. I hold a Master’s Degree in Public Law, a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Social Science; and a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Science and was a visiting Scholar at Columbia University’s Institute for the Study of Human Rights. Throughout my working life, as a practitioner and later in philanthropy, I have been committed to upholding the rights of the most marginalized, and challenging discrimination and exclusion in all aspects of public life.
