Noah Sitati (PhD) was appointed a Co-Chair of the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC) African Elephant Specialist Group (AfESG) for Human-elephant Conflict Working Group in 2010. He has extensive experience in both species conservation, policy and legal frameworks, Climate change adaptation and livelihoods and community-based natural resources management with the International Conservation Organizations including DICE, WWF, AWF and local NGOs and higher institutions of learning. His broad experience spans human-wildlife conflict mitigation, general species conservation including anti-poaching and wildlife census, forest and wetland conservation and restoration and addressing long-term issues of sustainable development and conservation. He has strong program management and reporting skills and Monitoring and Evaluation of complex programs with many donors including USAID, EU, RNE, IUCN, Draper Foundation, Disney, CEPF, among others. He is also the Program Manager of Kilimanjaro Landscape, the AWF cross border program for Kenya and Tanzania, the focal point in the AWF system for the coordination of trans-boundary conservation issues.
