  • IItATLO was formed after the community realised that they were the only people to end their problems after the start of the MARPs project in embu county msw faced stigma and discrimination from the hand of health care workers In a place the coul call a safe space these lead to mass dropout from access to services for almost 3years msms declined to get services from the dice until when hopeworlwide met EMAC who introduced them to us where we drafted a mou and the community was engaged for service uptake

Being a health care worker and a ordained priest I understand the blights that key population faces in Kenya , sex work and same gender marriages are illegal practices which end up putting key populations to more risks of getting sexually transmitted infections ,With these perception having grown in a rural setup in Embu county these has helped understand the cultural perception to key populations where. They face stigma discrimination and violence putting them to more risk , these led me to think over a inciative that will assist keypopulation access health care services from their peer hence stirring the formation of a community based organisation led by msm and msw through which we have been able to form fsw and lgbti bonds in embu county unlike there before Stigma and violence are the greatest challenges that we have through various community dialogues we have been able to understand source of violence in our county
