I started my career in1991 with a vision of Equality of women in a just civil society. I havebeen working in public health with a particular focus in women's health applying Rights based approach.Basically, I am a doer. With passion and expereince I am with the part of CiDV (citizen initiative to address domestic violence) network involved in the implementation of Domestic Violence Act 2010.


Maria Petersen

Programme development and learning coordinator with CARE Denmark. Experience working with legal empowerment in practice in Africa and Asia. Worked on a global legal empowerment initiative with the Open Society Foundations. Seeking to learn about good practice and developments in countries and will contribute by linking up CARE partners and other organizations to the network.

I'm CARE UK's Senior Gender Advisor and work with CARE's programme and policy teams to build partnerships and programmes that include the voice and needs of all genders and that tackle the underlying causes of gender equality and discrimination of all kinds.
