Chin Institute of Social Science

Falam, Myanmar
Joined February 2018

A post-secondary alternative program that aims to empower Chin youth to become active, engaged citizens.

Presence in: Myanmar
Focus: Education

The Chin Institute of Social Science (CISS) aims to inspire young people to become active participants in the political and social changes taking place in Myanmar. The one-year program blending academic subjects and service learning equips students with some critical tools to realize their ambitions, whether it be to work in the non-profit sector, to champion a project in their community or to pursue further education. Given the scarcity of educational opportunities in Chin State, CISS has been offering a much-needed alternative path for Chin youth.
