CCHD has 17 years of experience in rule of law and access to justice sector. We believes that rule of law and democracy are interlinked and mutually reinforcing. Good governance cannot be guaranteed in void of rule of law and access to justice. Protection of human rights will only be possible when rule of law and access to justice will improve.

Our Mission:

• CCHD aims to empower people to demand and shape better policies, express grievances, seek justice and hold leaders and private sector to account.

Our Objectives:

• To increase citizens awareness about their civic, social, political and economic rights;
• To broaden base of social justice in the society;
• To improve rule of law and access to justice for the poor;
• To promote pluralistic civil society that fortify democratic practices;
• To strengthen linkages with existing networks and movements addressing common goals.

CCHD has closed down more than 40 projects in its thematic areas of Rule of Law, Access to Justice, Human Rights, Violence Against Women, Peace and Tolerance, Democratic Education and Protection Services.

OUR APPROACH: CCHD thrives to expand the ability of citizens to access justice through courts and legal representation. It also seeks to increase citizens’ ability to engage fairly with law enforcement officials and also to make use of the informal justice mechanisms.
