Community Platform for Empowerment and Development (COPED) started in 2010 as a small women group in Migori County, Kenya. It’s main mission as decried above was to empower disenfranchised women and hirls.
COPED got promoted to a CBO in 2017 due to its activities which caught the attention of the local authorities. It has since empowered more than 500 women directly and about 30000 people indirectly, through ripple effect.
We conduct a 4 days empowerment workshops to these women and the girls as well.
Coped also role reproductive health education for the daughters of the disenfranchised women. We provide them with sanitary towels and panties
We are also involved in peace and reconciliation where there is need.
